The Downs starts the new year with strong entertainment lineup
The new year is here, and The Downs Racetrack & Casino has some lucrative promotions to welcome 2019.
Guests can be part of the “$125,000 Roll to Win” promotion every Monday through Friday in January. Three winners will be selected for a chance to win up to $500 cash during each drawing. The drawings will be held every two hours from noon to 10 p.m.
On weekends, guests have a chance to win their share of $3,000 in free play during the “$24,000 Downs Derby Weekends” promotion. Drawings will be held every two hours from 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays this month. Players can select their horses to win, place or show in the virtual derby races while playing their favorite slot machines.
Rack up the points every Wednesday at The Downs. Patrons earn five times the points each Wednesday. Triple Crown Players Club members who have a birthday in January will earn three times the points on their actual birthday and two times the points each Tuesday in January. All Players Club members also will get a bonus five times the points on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 21.
Also during the week, guests can enjoy the “Instant Hit” promotion on Wednesdays and the “Early Bird” promotion on Thursdays. There will be 15 “Instant Hit” drawings each Wednesday. Players qualify for the drawings when they earn 25 base points within the 30 minutes before each drawing. All prizes are free play and must be used within 48 hours of a win. There will be 60 winners each Wednesday.
Early risers can be part of the “Early Bird” promotion on Thursdays. Players Club members qualify when they earn 50 base points. A bonus wheel will then appear on the game they are playing for a chance to win between $5 and $500 in free play. The promotion ends when a total of $500 in free play has been awarded.
Another way to win free play is to sign up to be a member of the Triple Crown Players Club. New members have a chance to win up to $500 in free slot play. Active and retired military members and their spouses who register at the Players Club with their military ID will have a chance to win up to $5 to $25 in free play on Tuesdays. A virtual game will appear automatically when qualifying patrons earn one point playing their favorite games.
The First Turn Lounge inside The Downs celebrates its ’90s House Party on Jan. 26. The event will showcase awesome music from the 1990s and videos on 30 screens and a 20-foot HDTV on the patio. There will be cash prizes for the best ’90s attire.
First Turn Lounge continues to offer great local entertainment for no cover on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Party it up with Black Pearl tonight and Saturday, Jan. 5, Tequila Rain on Jan. 11 and 12, Gonzalo on Jan. 18 and 19, and DJ Mister E on Jan. 25.
Dance during Ladies’ Night to the sounds of Northern Revolution on Thursday, Jan. 10, and Jan. 31, Sangre Joven on Jan. 17, and Severo y Grupo Fuego on Jan. 24.
