THE LIGHTER SIDE

-

God bless America, and how’s everybody? Welcome to the next part of our annual series reviewing the past year, 2018, in jokes.

OCTOBER

■ Family Research Council president Tony Perkins expressed worry on Fox News over how all the scandals in D.C. and Hollywood might corrupt our nation’s morality. Forty-two years of living in Los Angeles has taught me how to tell the difference between right and wrong. Wrong is the fun one.

■ Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation Saturday and his swearing-in to office by President Trump on Monday gives the Supreme Court its first solid conservative GOP majority of judges in almost 90 years. Democrats, don’t worry, it will all be fine in the long run. Asteroids fix everything.

■ West Hollywood hosted the nation’s largest and most festive Halloween Parade on Wednesday with one million revelers on Santa Monica Boulevard. It’s pure LA. The winner of the Scariest Costume award went to the guy who came dressed as a cellphone with 2 percent left on the battery. Come back Tuesday for conclusion of the Year in Jokes!
