Marsha Johansen will talk about and sign “Around the Edges” at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.

In this raw collection of words and imagery, a journey of survival through poetry, Johansen writes of abuse, suicide, rebellion and mystical fantasies.

The Opera Book Club will read “Hard Bargain” by David Tucker, a memoir about a son’s struggle against the looming power of a magnetic father, at 6:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14.
