Albuquerque MMA fighter Holly Holm files for divorce
Albuquerque combat sports star Holly Holm has filed for divorce from husband Jeff Kirkpatrick, court records show.
The story first was reported by TMZ.
Holm and Kirkpatrick married in 2012.
According to court documents, Holm cited “incompatibility because of discord and conflict of personalities” in petitioning for divorce. The couple separated in March 2018, according to court documents.
Holm, 37, whose legal name is Holly Holm-Kirkpatrick, is asking the court to restore her maiden name.
She and Kirkpatrick, an Albuquerque contractor, have no children.
Holm compiled a 33-2-3 record and won multiple titles during a 13-year professional boxing career. She is 12-4 as an MMA fighter, best known for her monumental upset of previously unbeaten Ronda Rousey in a UFC bantamweight title fight in November 2015. She lost the title to Miesha Tate by fifth-round submission the following March.
The UFC has announced a March 2 fight between Holm and Californian Aspen Ladd, though Lenny Fresquez, Holm’s agent, has said no contract has been signed.
