Ramona Lee (Henderson) Wilson was born to Reid J. and Gertrude (Moore) Henderson on April 26, 1932 at Tabor, Iowa and departed this life in Albuquerqu­e, NM on December 27, 2018 at the age of 86.

Growing up in the small rural town of Tabor Iowa, Ramona enjoyed helping her father as he worked at a local drug store and helped her mother plan local parties and events. She loved to cook with her mother, especially baking. After graduating from Tabor High School, Ramona later worked in Omaha, Nebraska where she met her future husband Richard Earl Wilson. They married on October 31, 1954 in Tabor, IA and moved to Albuquerqu­e, NM. In 1956.

While Ramona was a stay at home Mother, she continued with the music that she had studied in Tabor and she belonged to several musical ensembles. She and Richard were very active in the Order of the Eastern Star, Masons, Shrine and Daughters of the Nile. She has served as Grand Choir Director in Eastern Star and Director of Choruses in Daughters of the Nile. She also was a requested pianist many times at Masonic and Civic events. Ramona had a passion for the science of genealogy and became a genealogis­t over 50 years ago following in her mother’s footsteps. She has traveled extensivel­y all over the United States and foreign countries researchin­g genealogy, not only her own family history but also assisted others with their research.

Ramona was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Survivors include her son, Richard Craig Wilson and wife Ramy of Las Cruces, NM; Kae Lynne Bacani of Lawton, OK., her sons Reid Loren Wilson and Jason Thomas Wilson both of Albuquerqu­e. Ramona is also survived by 6 grandchild­ren and 2 great grandchild­ren. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. If desired, in lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations can be made in Ramona’s honor to the New Mexico Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n. A private family memorial will be held.
