Quick decision confirms governor is in unions’ pocket

AFTER HAVING spent all of three days in office, which were no doubt devoted to intensive research regarding the efficacy of PARCC, our new governor decided to drop the exam, stating: “I know PARCC isn’t working.” Apparently, she knows more than Educators Elevating New Mexico and NewMexicoKidsCAN, both of which opposed the move. The point is that there is enough of a difference of informed opinion to warrant further study. Unfortunately, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham confirmed what many voters have suspected, namely, that the teachers unions have her in their pocket. JOEL WIDMAN Rio Rancho
