STU­ART BUTZIER, head of Mo­drall Sper­ling’s Nat­u­ral Re­sources Depart­ment and manag­ing direc­tor of the firm’s Santa Fe of­fice, has been named 2018 NREEL Lawyer of the Year by the Na­tional Re­sources, En­ergy, and En­vi­ron­men­tal Law (NREEL) Sec­tion of the State Bar of New Mex­ico. The award was given in recog­ni­tion of his “demon­strat­ing pro­fes­sion­al­ism and in­tegrity, su­pe­rior le­gal ser­vice, ex­em­plary ser­vice to the NREEL Sec­tion, and ser­vice to the pub­lic.”

QUAL­ITY NEW MEX­ICO has an­nounced the eight re­cip­i­ents of the 2018 New Mex­ico Per­for­mance Ex­cel­lence Awards (NMPEA). The 2018 Zia Award re­cip­i­ent is the Nor-Lea Hospi­tal District, Lov­ing­ton. The Zia Ex­cel­lence Award re­flects that the re­cip­i­ent is a New Mex­ico role model or­ga­ni­za­tion in how it uses ef­fec­tive, sys­tem­atic pro­cesses to con­tin­u­ally im­prove and to achieve per­for­mance ex­cel­lence in its key out­comes. The 2018 Road­run­ner (Progress) re­cip­i­ents are Del Norte Credit Union, Santa Fe; Farm­ing­ton Mu­nic­i­pal Schools, Farm­ing­ton; Los Alamos Na­tional Lab­o­ra­tory Po­lice Of­fice, Los Alamos; and Meals on Wheels of Al­bu­querque, Al­bu­querque. The Road­run­ner (progress) level re­flects that the re­cip­i­ent or­ga­ni­za­tions demon­strate progress in build­ing sound and sys­temic pro­cesses and at­tain­ing im­proved out­comes.

The 2018 Piñon (Com­mit­ment) re­cip­i­ents are the New Mex­ico Depart­ment of Trans­porta­tion District Two, Roswell; and San­dia Na­tional Lab­o­ra­to­ries Mis­sion Com­put­ing and IT Fi­nan­cial Man­age­ment Busi­ness Oper­a­tions, Al­bu­querque. The Piñon level re­flects that the re­cip­i­ents are in the early states of us­ing sys­tem­atic pro­cesses and data to at­tain im­proved over­all out­comes.

The 2018 Adobe (Foun­da­tion) re­cip­i­ent is Health Quest Chi­ro­prac­tic, LLC, Al­bu­querque. The Adobe level re­flects that the re­cip­i­ent has de­fined its key char­ac­ter­is­tics in­clud­ing its mis­sion and vi­sion; its cus­tomer and work­force seg­ments and re­quire­ments; its com­pet­i­tive en­vi­ron­ment; and its strate­gic chal­lenges and ad­van­tages.

All award and recog­ni­tion re­cip­i­ents will be for­mally rec­og­nized at the 2019 Qual­ity New Mex­ico Learn­ing Sum­mit & New Mex­ico Per­for­mance Ex­cel­lence Awards to be held in April of 2019.
