SPORTS SPEAK UP!

I CERTAINLY contemplated (JaQuan Lyle’s) situation with the expectations. This injury set our season in motion, unfortunately. Always knowing that the team has to go with what it has, very happy to hear he stayed. Can’t wait to see you play JaQuan! To all the Lobo coaches out there, besides the real one, breathe. The best is yet to come. — Retired PBA Champ

HOW DOES a coach make sure his team will be behind by 20 in the first few minutes of the Nevada rematch? By not starting his leading scorer. Great piece of coaching Mr. Weir. And donate that dumb red sweater to a local thrift shop. Start wearing something more professional. — Allan, ABQ, father of an attorney

MEN LOBO team get huge 1 inch headline in losing, Lady Lobo team get less in a huge win plus an out of focus picture of Jayla Everett. Put the Lady Lobos UP FRONT & IN FOCUS. — Puntz in the PIT

CALL ME crazy, but I predict Eric Musselman will be the next UCLA basketball coach. If offered the job, the timing might be perfect for him to jump ship at Nevada and head to UCLA. There is nothing left for him to prove in Reno. I don’t have the slightest idea who he has in the wings for recruits, but I do know he is losing a ton of talent through graduating seniors…5 fifth year starting seniors and one top reserve. He certainly has proven his worth as a top level college basketball coach. — Bob, UNM Area
