How do you define “leadership”? Inspiring and supporting others to achieve challenging goals and outcomes. This is best accomplished when leading with determination, humility and empathy. People working together with a common purpose can do amazing things, and a leader can create the environment for the team to succeed.

What do you consider to be the top issue or concern facing New Mexico today? Why? I believe the high crime rate is New Mexico’s biggest challenge, as it threatens the wellbeing of its people and its future. Creating a safe community for our children and families to thrive is necessary to attract new business and talent to the state.

What do you consider to be the top accomplishment in the past 5 years in our state? Why? The state has made progress in the last five years by controlling spending while also helping to incentivize business to come to New Mexico. There is more to do in this area, but I believe we are moving in the right direction.
