James Francis

"Jim" Keenan, 88, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019. He was born in Farmington, NM on October 28, 1930, to Luis and Madeline (Shannon) Keenan.

Jim grew up in Rattlesnak­e, NM. Growing up, he excelled in athletics, especially basketball and football. Jim served his country in the Army during the Korean war and because he was wounded, he was rewarded with a Purple Heart. Jim loved the outdoors. He enjoyed flying fishing and his Outfitter trips into the "High Country". More than anything James enjoyed spending time with his family. One of his favorite things was to cook pancakes for the grandchild­ren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Suzanne Keenan; grandson, Thomas Keenan; and sisters, Teresa Deiterman and Mary Louise Edwards.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of over 21 years, Grace Keenan; children, Mike Keenan and wife Gayle, Tim Keenan, and Maureen Salmon and husband James; grandchild­ren, Meghann Brown and husband Jay, Brett Robertson and husband Craig, Dan Keenan, Matt Salmon, and Molly Salmon; great-grandchild­ren, Jack and Alexandria Robertson; sister, Rose Ann Yowell; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A Rosary will be recited at 8:00 am on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Our Lady of the Annunciati­on Catholic Church 2532 Vermont St NE, Albuquerqu­e, NM 87110. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary at 8:30am.
