SF ANIMAL SHELTER & HUMANE SOCIETY PETS OF THE WEEK

-

Stop by the Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society to meet

Courtney. She is a red merle mixedbreed girl, approximately a year old, with one blue eye and one brown eye. She is currently 49 pounds and may gain 5 more pounds. Staff and volunteers who work with Courtney have noted that she solicits affection, leaning on them and even crawling into their laps! She walks politely on leash and enjoys picking up souvenirs (sticks and pine cones are favorites) along the way.

Winston is a 12-pound, 12-yearold kitty. He is still new to the shelter, but he has been very social and outgoing with all the staff he has met so far.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours are from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. Follow the shelter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Visit adoptable animals in the community on Saturday and Sunday, from noon-3 p.m., at PetSmart Santa Fe, 3561 Zafarano Dr. Also, see these two pets and others up for adoption online at www.sfhumanesociety.org or call 983-4309 ext. 610.

ESPAÑOLA HUMANE

Come to Española Humane to meet two delightful doggies looking for a second chance at a good life.

Ella is a darling girl looking for a job to do. She would be an excellent ranch hand to a family looking for some canine company while getting work done. She wants nothing more than to play with her canine friends and be a part of a family. Ella is about 2 years old and arrived at the shelter as a stray via animal control. A home with a fenced yard would be a requirement to take her home. She is great with people and loves long walks. She is already spayed, and up to date on vaccines and microchipped, which means no waiting, she can go home today.

Sadie was found scared and abandoned in a mountain far away from any sign of civilization. A nice man was able to catch her and bring her to the shelter’s care. We’ve placed her in foster care for a few weeks and she’s gained some confidence and some weight, both of which she desperately needed. She does better in the presence of other friendly dogs. All she wants is a home that is patient and gentle, like she is. She still needs more training around people, so a home with no children under 12 years old would be best. Sadie is about 11 months old. Stop by and meet her today.

These two and many others may be adopted daily from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at Española Humane, 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. 505-753-8662. To see more adoptable pets, log on to www. espanolahumane.org or www. petango.com.
