SF ANIMAL SHELTER & HUMANE SOCIETY

Stop by the Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society to meet Vegemite, a handsome two-yearold pooch who came to the shelter looking for a second chance in life. Vegemite currently weighs about 40 pounds. Here at the shelter, he has been a sweet boy and loves everyone. He walks great on a leash and loves to cuddle up with his favorite person.

This sweet cat is Megan. She is a 7-pound tabby who is about 8 years young. Megan has been a social gal, kneading her blanket when she sees her favorite staff person, and allowing handling by volunteers.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours are from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. daily.

See other animals up for adoption online at www.sfhumanesociety.org or call 983-4309 ext. 610. Also follow the shelter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

You can visit adoptable animals in the community today from noon3 p.m. at Teca Tu, a Pawsworthy Pet Emporium, DeVargas Center, 165 Paseo de Peralta, and again on Saturday, Aug. 31, from noon-3 p.m. at PetSmart Santa Fe, 3561 Zafarano Dr.

ESPAÑOLA HUMANE

Come to Española Humane to meet two really fabulous felines.

Michelle is an absolutely endless source of purring love. She adores people of all shapes and sizes, and she can’t get enough time in your arms. She is about 2 years old, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and tested negative for Felv/Fiv. She came to the shelter as a stray. Come meet Michelle.

Next, meet Benji. Shelter staff promise that he will try to steal your heart. He is about 12 weeks old, and loves people and other cats. He was left in the shelter’s parking lot, so he is looking for an owner who will love and cherish him. Benji has done well with litter box training. Having another kitten or cat will be a plus, but he is willing to cuddle up to you, too.

These two and many others may be adopted daily from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at Española Humane, 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. 505-753-8662. To see more adoptable pets, log on to www. espanolahumane.org or www. petango.com.

Don’t forget the shelter has adoption hours at the Cat Corral of Española Humane at Sunrise Springs every Tuesday and Thursday from 1-4 p.m. and by appointment at Sunrise Springs Spa and Resort, 242 Los Pinos Road, La Cienega. 423-3360.
