IT firm ANM opens spacious, high-tech facility in Albuquerque
Advanced Networking Management has experienced hyper growth in recent years, prompting it to open a new, 42,000-square-foot facility in the north I-25 industrial corridor.
The homegrown firm, which launched in Albuquerque in 1994, provides computer networking solutions for businesses and institutions with a full suite of support services ranging from remote monitoring and management to cybersecurity, cloud storage, video conferencing and customer training.
It reached $109 million in revenue last year, up from $17.7 million five years ago, and expects to hit $130 million this year. It now employs more than 200 people, with 87 in New Mexico and the rest at offices in four other states and two small support operations in Mexico and India.
That’s up from just 28 New Mexico-based employees in 2014, encouraging the company to move this year from a 12,000-square-foot space it leased at Alameda Boulevard and I-25 into a company-owned facility at 4001 Jefferson Plaza NE. It spent $5 million, including $1 million in Local Economic Development Act support from the state and city, to buy the building and remodel it into a high-tech facility to accommodate future growth, said co-owner and Chief Technology Officer Vance Krier.
Its new center officially opened in September.
“It gives us a long-term base to grow our operations and employee talent,” Krier said. “We’ve expanded a lot outside of New Mexico, but we remain headquartered here.”
The company’s hyper growth began after the two original founders sold their shares in ANM to Raminder Mann, a former Cisco Systems vendor, and two of his relatives. Krier, who became an ANM partner in 2000,
retained his ownership stake in the company.
Under Mann, now CEO, the company has aggressively expanded services beyond ANM’s previous focus on computer networking and voice and video technology for small businesses to include full design and management solutions for customers large and small.
Geographic expansion is also key. Since 2015, ANM has opened offices in Denver, Colorado; El Paso, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona, and Boise, Idaho.
Colorado has proven particularly lucrative.
“It’s our No. 1 state now,” Mann said. “It’s huge.”
The company has earned top spots since 2016 on the Journal’s annual Flying 40 list of fast-growing technology firms.
ANM provides remote network monitoring services for all its U.S. customers from Albuquerque. That 24/7 operation is now based at ANM’s new facility, which also includes a high-tech training center, state-ofthe-art meeting rooms with full-wall video conferencing, and a warehouse and staging area to receive and ship equipment.
