SF ANIMAL SHELTER & HUMANE SOCIETY

Stop by the Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society to meet Edamame, a 3-year-old mixed breed pup who currently weighs about 16 pounds. She is a bit shy and would succeed in a quiet home of her own. We do recommend she be the only dog in the home but if you have another dog, please bring them in for a meet-n-greet today.

Jasper is a 1-year-old long haired beauty. This sweet guy has been very affectionate with volunteers. Jasper is a great kitty and enjoys purring.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The Shelter’s adoption hours are from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. daily.

Follow the shelter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and see others animals up for adoption online at www.sfhumanesociety.org or call 983-4309, ext. 610.

Also, visit adoptable animals in the community during the shelter’s adoption events, Sunday from noon3 p.m. at PetSmart Santa Fe, 3561 Zafarano Dr., and again on Saturday, Oct. 19, from noon-3 p.m. at The Cat South, 2570 Camino Entrada.

Also Sunday, the Santa Fe Animal Shelter will offer a new community class, “Dog Park Safety & Etiquette Class.” This lecture-style class will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of taking your pup to the dog park as well as tips to keep you and your furry friend safe and happy. Whether you frequent the dog park on a daily basis or haven’t visited yet, you’re sure to learn something new and meet other passionate dog parents, too. The free class will be held at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter from 1-3 p.m. at the shelter. Please no dogs, this will be a lecture-style class. For more information visit sfhumanesociety. org

ESPAÑOLA HUMANE

Come to Española Humane to meet Chica. She is the best little mama dog with such a sweet and affectionate personality. She was surrendered to our care with 6 of her puppies because her owner could no longer provide a home for them. All of them were loved and well taken care of and we hope to find Chica the most loving home for her to continue her life in. Chica is about 4 years old and she is great with people and other dogs. She has tested positive for heartworm disease but we’ve already begun treatment for her and will continue her treatment through our facility at no additional cost to her new family. This nurturing soul deserves a chance to be in a home and enjoy

life without the responsibility of caring for pups ever again. So she is already spayed and ready to go home.

Dana was left to live life on her own at a very young age. So now at 4 months, she is having trouble trusting people. She is super shy and can warm up a little but will go back into hiding. So she is looking for a home that will give her the space she needs to feel comfortable but still give her the love she needs to know that not all people are bad. It would be best if she is not living with any children under the age of 12 years. She does well with other cats but she will bond with them and not you, so you need to be careful with that. Stop by and meet this girl and may be give her a second chance.

These two and many others may be adopted Monday-Sunday from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Española Valley Humane Society, 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. 505-753-8662. To see more adoptable pets, log on to www.espanolahumane.org or www.petango.com.
