A threat to our laws, Trump is Enemy #1

-

CONSIDER THE many laws, regulations and protections threatened by Donald J. Trump while he has been in office — and before that time:

Sherman Anti-Trust Laws. Civil and voting rights. A bicameral system of government with checks and balances to protect us from would-be tyrants and dictators. Constitutionally guaranteed rights, such as freedom to peacefully assemble, freedom of speech and worship, freedom from unlawful search and seizure, freedom to be properly represented in a court of law, and so forth.

All federal mandates to protect the environment, including the Environmental Protection Agency itself, NEPA, the Clean Air and Water Acts, and the Endangered Species Act. Federal laws that penalize, criminalize and make treasonous acts by any citizen — including the president of the United States — to conduct him or herself in a manner that jeopardizes national security.

Failure to conduct fair, impartial hearings on potential judges and Supreme Court justices. Acts of perjury, collusion, complicity in federal — even international — crimes. (Possible) campaign fraud. Damaging international relations, especially with our allies. … . Violations of the Emoluments Clause. Obstruction of justice — most definitely. Violations of human rights, including blatant disregard for the health and welfare of immigrants. Inciting violence on the part of white supremacists and fomenting racial tension … . Failure to address gun violence and to renew the Violence Against Women Act. Failure to protect the LGBTQIA community from persecution. … (Alleged) tax evasion. (Alleged) real estate fraud. Pursuing one’s own financial interests and profiting by them while in office as president — need I go on? If this “president” is not impeachable, I don’t know who is. ANNETTE AHLANDER Albuquerque
