Santa Fe Prep appoints Aaron Schubach new head of school

SANTA FE — Aaron Schubach has been appointed the next head of school by Santa Fe Prep’s board of trustees.

Schubach, whose term will begin in July 2020, succeeds Jim Leonard, who has served as head of school at Prep since 1999. Leonard announced his plans to retire at the end of the current school year in April.

The search committee for the head of school vacancy considered more than 80 inquiries from both the U.S. and abroad, according to a news release.

Schubach has served as head of school at Colorado Springs School since 2014. He holds a bachelor of arts in history from Colorado College, a masters of arts from St. John’s College in Santa Fe and a doctorate in education from Columbia University.
