Boise State routs Lobo women in MWC semis
BOISE, Idaho — Raimee Sherle scored two of the three goals by Boise State in a two-minute stretch that buried New Mexico in an eventual 6-0 loss Thursday in Mountain West Conference women’s soccer tournament semifinal play.
The top-seeded Broncos (17-4-0) advance to face No. 2 San Diego State in the championship match. UNM, which had advanced with a dramatic golden goal by Leilani Baker to win 1-0 on Tuesday over San Jose State in quarterfinal action, ends its season at 11-8-1.
Although the Lobos lose Jessie Hix and Jill Olguin, they expect to return three of their top four goal-scorers in Rio Rancho’s Baker, Jaydn Edwards and Alesia Garcia.
