Midweek book signing features two sci-fi authors

AT PAGE ONE: Southwestern sci-fi authors Connie Willis and Melinda Snodgrass will have a signing at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26. Also featuring Willis’ “Terra Incognita” and “A Lot Like Christmas” and Snodgrass’ “The Hidden World” and “Knaves Over Queens,” among others.

Page One will be participating in the nationwide “Indies First” event, with 11 New Mexico authors on hand as “guest booksellers” for 75 or 90 minutes each from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30.

The authors will be in store to recommend books that have influenced them or that they’ve enjoyed reading, in addition to promoting their own titles.

AT TREASURE BOOKS & GIFTS: Janet K. Brennan will sign her short story collection “Tango Sunday: Tales on the Edge” from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24.

“Tango Sunday” is a collection of fictional short stories about life on the edge. True to Janet Brennan’s style and philosophy, she titillates with good doses of revenge, ghosties, life in the spiritual world and death.

Lisa Bear Goldman and illustrator Patrice Schooley will sign“The Gift of Wonder” and “Proud Little Burro” from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29.

Buddy, a young donkey, is chosen by wise Raven to be in the Animal Messenger Parade.

Jane Butel will sign her many cookbooks, including “Fiesta” and “Simply Southwestern” from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30. Jane will have free samples of her cuisine.
