■What you need to know about Boise State:

Like UNM, the Broncos have used one starting lineup all season. In fact, they largely stick to those five players all game, too. BSU’s bench gets just 22.2% of its minutes, which ranks 333rd out of 353 Division I teams. While Mountain West fans may know Jessup as one of the top shooters in the league, he is just third on the team in scoring behind NBA prospect Derrick Alston (21.8 points per game) and emerging 6-7 post R.J. Williams. While the Lobos have done well this season not fouling teams (31st nationally in defensive foul rate), Williams (7.9 per for 40 minutes) and Alston (7.2 per 40) rank No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in the MWC in fouls drawn per 40 minutes. As far as 3-pointers, only Alston (38) and Jessup (47) attempt them at a high volume, but history says Boise State will have somebody get hot from behind the arc in the Pit.

■ What you need to know about New Mexico:

As of Tuesday afternoon, UNM had attempted the most free throws (229) among all 353 Division I teams and, despite how bad things looked in the first half Sunday against Montana, has also made the most free throws (163). The 71.2% clip is slightly above the national average of 69.7%, but could still be a much larger weapon. UNM has attempted 24 or more free throws in seven of its nine games, but was held to just nine attempts in the loss to Auburn and 15 in the Wisconsin win. Boise State doesn’t go to its bench much, so any sort of foul trouble could take the Broncos out of their comfort zone. But they have defended well without fouling. Of course the Broncos have also let the Division I teams they’ve played shoot a 52.6 effective field goal percentage, so the Lobos should have an opportunity to shoot at a high clip.
