More than $665,000 in 42 grants was awarded recently to nonprofits around the state that provide access to health programs that support communities.

The grants were awarded by Santa Fe-based Con Alma Health Foundation, the largest private foundation in New Mexico dedicated solely to all issues related to health.

The grants will support such diverse programs as suicide prevention, supportive housing, environmental health, child welfare, economic development, health care careers, advocacy training, health care access and a healthy food financing initiative.

Con Alma honored its grant recipients at the health foundation’s annual grantee recognition event in November.
