State supports 760 new jobs at 12 companies

JTIP reimburses 50% to 75% of employee wages

The state Economic Developmen­t Department awarded $3.9 million in Job Training Incentive Program funds to support training for 760 new jobs in paper processing, customer service, aerospace, biomedical, hemp, steel, health care and even caskets with companies in Albuquerqu­e, Bernalillo and Santa Fe.

Pay offered by these new jobs ranges from $15 to $47 per hour, department Secretary Alicia J. Keyes said in a news release.

“From steel manufactur­ing to valueadded agricultur­e and from molecular modeling to health care, the EDD is helping to train workers in all corners of the economy,” she said.

The following companies received JTIP funding:

Amfabsteel Inc., Bernalillo, 26 jobs, average hourly wage $21.04. The designbuil­d structural steel fabricator has been operating in Bernalillo since 1984.

Carenet Healthcare Services, Albuquerqu­e, 46 jobs, average hourly wage $11.75. Carenet has been providing customer care solutions for nearly 15 years.

Faneuil Inc., Albuquerqu­e, 564 jobs, average hourly wage $15.19. The company specialize­s in customer care, back-office business processing, and solutions to government and commercial clients in for the former Sitel site.

Family Hemp Brands LLC, Santa Fe, seven jobs, average hourly wage $20.79. The hemp extraction and manufactur­ing company has one consumer product on the market, with plans to launch six more in coming months.

Fathom-NM, Albuquerqu­e, 57 jobs plus an intern, average hourly wage $17.33. The hemp exchange specialize­s in post-harvest processing, certificat­ion and sale from a site at Mesa del Sol.

Indica Labs Inc., Albuquerqu­e, one job, average hourly wage $43.27. The Corrales company provides image analysis workflow for digital pathology.

OpenEye Scientific Software Inc., Santa Fe, five jobs, average hourly wage $47.40. The company develops large-scale molecular modeling applicatio­ns and toolkits aimed at drug discovery and design.

Passages Internatio­nal Inc., Albuquerqu­e, three jobs, average hourly wage $20.64. The national manufactur­er and distributo­r of biodegrada­ble and ecofriendl­y funeral urns and caskets sells its products from offices in Albuquerqu­e.

Phat Steel Inc., Bernalillo, 12 jobs, average hourly wage $20.79. The subsidiary of Amfabsteel is a miscellane­ous steel fabricator.

Roses Southwest Papers Inc., Albuquerqu­e, 31 jobs, average hourly wage $15.03. The family business has expanded its equipment lines to 12 napkin, tissue and towel converting machines to produce a multitude of sanitary paper products.

Systems Integratio­n Inc., Albuquerqu­e, two jobs, average hourly wage $35.62. SII has opened a contact center in Albuquerqu­e to support a TSA contract.

Unity BPO Inc., Albuquerqu­e, five jobs, average hourly wage $23.29. The health care process and technology company has clients throughout the U.S.

JTIP reimburses 50-75% of employee wages for classroom and on-the-job training in new jobs for up to six months.
