Fishing for trout at TINGLEY BEACH was good using garlic-scented PowerBait, white PowerBait worms and homemade dough bait. At the ALBUQUERQU­E-AREA DRAINS, fishing for trout was fair to good using spinners and salmon eggs. Monday morning flows on the CHAMA RIVER below El Vado and Abiquiu were 102 cfs and 76.7 cfs, respective­ly. Fishing for brown trout below El Vado Lake was fair to good using nightcrawl­ers and flies. Fishing for trout below Abiquiu Lake was good using small jerk baits. Anglers should expect seasonal closures below Abiquiu Dam until March as a fish habitat improvemen­t project is underway. Streamflow on the JEMEZ RIVER Monday morning was 19.8 cfs. Fishing for trout was good above and below Jemez Springs using worms, salmon eggs and Copper John flies. FENTON LAKE is closed due to dangerous ice conditions. EAGLE NEST LAKE is open for ice fishing. Fishing for trout was good using bright colored PowerBait. Streamflow on the RIO GRANDE at the Taos Junction Bridge Monday morning was 435 cfs. Fishing upstream from Pilar was fair to good using PowerBait. LAKE ALICE and LAKE MALOYA are open to ice fishing. We had no reports from anglers this week. One angler reported that fishing for trout at SPRINGER LAKE was very slow. At STORRIE LAKE, fishing for trout was fair to good using worms. Streamflow on the SAN JUAN RIVER Monday morning was 462 cfs. Dry fly fishing for trout in the “quality waters” section was fair to good using small midge and midge cluster patterns. Fishing for trout in the “quality waters” was good using red midge larva patterns, pupa patterns and egg patterns. Fishing for trout in the “bait waters” was fair to good using flies and salmon eggs. Water clarity was about one-foot visibility. Water flow on the ANIMAS RIVER below Aztec Monday morning was 206 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week. At BLUEWATER LAKE, fishing for trout was fair. The winter stocking plan is to stock 6,000 catchable-size rainbow trout per month through March. Fishing for trout at TREES LAKE was good using PowerBait and spinners. At YOUNG POND, fishing for trout was very good using salmon peach PowerBait, corn and marshmallo­w balls. Fishing for trout at ALUMNI POND was good using salmon peach PowerBait and corn. We had no reports from anglers at ELEPHANT BUTTE LAKE this week. Streamflow on the RIO GRANDE below Elephant Butte Monday morning was 0.70 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week. Fishing for trout at ALTO LAKE was good using corn and salmon eggs. At BERRENDO CREEK, fishing for rainbow trout was fair to good using small spinners. Streamflow on the RUIDOSO RIVER Monday morning at Hollywood was 7.63 cfs. Fishing for trout was fair to good using copper spinners. Streamflow on the CIMARRON RIVER near Cimarron Monday morning was not measured due to ice. We had no reports from anglers this week. CLAYTON LAKE is closed to fishing and boating until March 1, 2020. The water temperatur­e at UTE LAKE was 43 degrees Fahrenheit. We had no reports from anglers this week. Due to low water levels at ABIQUIU LAKE anglers are advised to use fourwheel drive vehicles to launch boats and watch for obstructio­ns on the water. We had no reports from anglers this week. Streamflow on the GILA RIVER Monday morning was 111 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week. Streamflow on the PECOS RIVER below Sumner Lake Monday morning was 20.5 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
