2020 FALL PARADE OF HOMES
EVENT FEATURES MORE THAN 30 HOMES
Since 1991, the Home Builders Association of Central NM has been operating its “Parade of Homes." The Home Builders Association of Central New Mexico (HBA of CNM) has hosted 39 Parades featuring some of the most jaw dropping new homes and remodels that the Albuquerque Metro area has seen. This year is no different.
Despite the many challenges posed by COVID-19, the annual and popular fall Parade of Homes by the Home Builders Association of Central New Mexico kicks off today with 31 homes to visit and another two for virtual-only tours.
“We are again pleasantly surprised that we have more than 30 homes for the parade,” said Lana Smiddle, association vice president of operations. “It’s not far off our regular number. During these difficult times, builders are still building and people still want beautiful homes and that’s great for the economy. So we’re very happy with that number.”
Homes are spread from the far northwest of the metro area, where Signature Builder Twilight Homes has models in both Mariposa and Mountain Hawk communities, to Los Lunas, where the Sivage Homes’ development of Inspiración at Fiesta is the Signature Community.
Homes range from Amreston’s Rio Rancho model at $213,803 to $2.1 million for the 4,433-square-foot, far Northeast home by Diego Handcrafted Homes.
Fellowship Homes is making its Parade debut with a 2,444-square-foot, fourbedroom model on the far west side for about $500,000.
Given the social distancing and mask guidelines, the association is continuing the practice it started with the Parade earlier this year by offering virtual tours of each of the homes through its website (homesofenchantmentparade.com/).
“Everybody is going more virtual so we’re just following along,” Smiddle said. “People can go anytime and look at the virtual tour, find the home they like and head out to the price range, style they want to see. It will give them a good preview before they actually get to the homes. And if they want, they don’t even have to leave their home and just do a virtual tour.”
For those who prefer to see the homes in person for themselves, viewing is from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. each day, with recommended safety protocols enforced.
“Guidelines are set up, COVID-19 safety protocols,” she said. “Everybody has to wear shoe covers, masks and they’re limiting the number of people who can enter the homes at one time. Some will even have paths entering in the front and leaving through the garage so you don’t backtrack on somebody you don’t know.”
