What does your dream home look like?

-

Choosing a new home is an important step that requires a great deal of thought. After all, you’re bound to have a problem finding the perfect house if you don’t really know what it’s supposed to look like. Before starting your house hunting, be sure to define your needs, priorities and preferences.

the ideal home

You’ll have to take into consideration several factors, such as the size of the house, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the type of propertyand the features you would like it to have (pool, garage, fireplace, etc.).

Set your priorities; a big yard is great, but do you have the time to look after it? Think about your future needs as well. Are you planning to have children or welcome your elderly mother a few years down the road? Will your teenage kids soon leave home?

the right neighborhood

As perfect as it may seem, a house in the wrong location just won’t meet your expectations. Make sure you choose a location and surroundings that suit you, whether it’s in the city, suburbs or countryside. How far is the house from your workplace or school? Will you be able to use public transportation? Is there a park nearby? Is it a noisy neighborhood? Or is it welcoming and safe, with well-lit streets and low traffic volume?

Lastly, be very certain that you can afford the home you’re considering. Take into account all the costs associated with the purchase of the property, not just the sale price.
