Defined Fitness opens in Rio Rancho

-

Defined Fitness opened the doors at a new location in Enchanted Hills, not far from the NM 528-US 550 intersection, in Rio Rancho on Oct. 6, the Rio Rancho Observer reports.

The new Defined Fitness Rio Club, at 4400 Jager Way, is the locally owned company’s third club to open in the last 10 months as it continues an expansion plan announced in 2019. Defined Fitness plans to commemorate the grand opening of the new Rio Club and celebrate its 33rd anniversary of being locally owned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 31.

The new 40,000-square-foot club features heart-ratebased team training, indoor/ outdoor workout space, dedicated recovery rooms with hydro massage beds and turf functional training areas. The gym also has Defined Fitness’s standard $1 million in equipment, including more than 200 pieces of state-of-theart cardio equipment, strength training, group exercise studios, indoor cycling, a pool, a hot tub, saunas and a kids club with free supervised childcare.

Defined Fitness purchased the Enchanted Hills property in 2008, in anticipation of Rio Rancho growing. With the addition of the new Rio Club, Defined Fitness now has eight locations serving the Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Farmington and Santa Fe markets.

The opening of the new Defined Fitness Rio Club comes on the heels of the grand opening of the company’s first club in the Santa Fe market in July and a new club in southwest Albuquerque last December. Through the expansion, Defined Fitness created 300 new jobs and employed hundreds more who worked on the construction of the new clubs.
