Santa Fe police identify suspects in shooting

SANTA FE — Santa Fe police have identified three people of interest in a Friday night killing of Frank Pete, 50, of Arizona.

On Monday, police identified Randall Lopez, 31, Raeann Tapia, 26, and Matthew Montano, 32, as people of interest in the homicide case. Detectives believe they are still in the Santa Fe area, according to a news release.

According to online court records, all three have criminal records.

Santa Fe police found Pete dead of gunshot wounds around 8:15 p.m. Friday at Las Palomas apartment complex on Hopewell Street as they were responding to two reports of gunshots in the area.

Santa Fe police have also identified Virgil Tortalita, 50, of Santo Domingo Pueblo as the victim in a separate homicide case.

Tortalita was found dead in a bathtub at the GreenTree Inn on Jan. 4, but police believe he may have been dead for several days.

Alvin Crespin, 45, is charged with firstdegre­e murder and three counts of tampering with evidence in the case.
