NMSP investigating fatal crash in Las Cruces

DOÑA ANA COUNTY — New Mexico State Police are investigating following a fatal crash on Interstate 25 in Las Cruces.

Alfred J. Perez, 23, of Peoria, Arizona, was traveling north on I-25 when his 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup left the roadway and rolled about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, near milepost 7.

Police report Perez was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash and seat belts were not properly used, police reported.
