Meyer talks to Jags, Chargers
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ head coaching search is in a holding pattern because they are waiting for Urban Meyer to decide if he wants to return to coaching.
Although it could change, the Jaguars have no other interviews scheduled for this week. And Meyer remains the only candidate to be interviewed in-person by owner Shad Khan, which occurred Friday on his yacht, the Florida Times-Union reports.
Meyer also has talked to the Los Angeles Chargers, who fired Anthony Lynn last week, the Los Angeles Times reports.
JETS: The team completed an in-person interview with San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh on Wednesday without apparently reaching a deal. If no deal is struck, New York can host the other candidates initially spoken to whose team isn’t playing in the postseason. That would include Carolina offensive coordinator Joe Brady, Indianapolis defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, former Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis and Tennessee offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
