"Larry" Charles Lawrence Morales passed away at his home in Bernalillo, NM, on January 4, 2021, at age 67. Born July 31, 1953, in Santa Fe,

NM, Larry lived his life in Albuquerqu­e and Bernalillo, NM. Larry was a lifelong musician starting from his school days in the south valley of Albuquerqu­e. He was a 1971 graduate of Rio Grande High School, where he left his musical mark with the high school band. Larry was well known for his trumpet and percussion playing, as well as vocals with different bands over the span of his lifetime, including Flipside, Chicano Groove, Kaktus Kats, Midnight Sun, DeRangers, Latin Persuasion, and Pure Gold, to name a few.

Among his many talents, he was also an excellent mechanic. He loved riding his motorcycle­s, and always said “Live to ride and ride forever”.

He loved his animals, notably the Chihuahuas that stuck to him like glue and even sang to him. Larry is preceded in death by his father Alex Morales, Mother Esther Young, Brother Tom Morales, and Sister Jo Ann Rodgers.

Larry is survived by his Love and fiancé Zelinda Ortiz and her family: Daughters Melissa Work and son Alejandro, Kristin Work and sons Kyle and Adyn, and Zelinda’s Mother Margaret Ortiz all of Bernalillo, NM, Son Ocello Morales of CA, Brother Donald Morales (Judy), Brother-In-Law Buddy Rodgers, Nephews and Nieces: Tony Rodgers (Roberta Duck), Steve Rodgers (Carmela), Melinda Rodgers, Donald Lawrence Morales, Amanda Ogle (Chris) all of Albuquerqu­e, Grand Nephews and Nieces, Aunts: Georgia Abeyta and Josie Leal, numerous cousins and friends.
