Reverend John R. Odell

Rev. John R. Odell, 74 went home peacefully to be with our

Lord and Savior, January 5, 2021. After a long time illness at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 6, 1946 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to the late Robert H. Odell and Ella (Jordan) Odell of Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from Washington High, Phoenix, Arizona in 1964, and Southweste­rn Assemblies of God University, Waxahachie, Texas 1980.

John served as pastor at churches in North Carolina, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona.

Odell Jr. John is survived by his caring and loving wife of 52 years Gay (Wainwright) 0dell Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico daughter, Verna Black and Lucian Nicholas of Roswell, New Mexico, son John R. and Corby Odell Jr. of Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico, grandson Devon Black of Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico granddaugh­ters; Kasey Black of Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico Lindsay

Black of Roswell, New Mexico, Savannah Odell of Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico Sister: Barbara Sims of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Brothers: Rev. Ben and Darlene Odell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Rev. Charley and Janice 0dell of Peoria, Arizona.

John was known for his outgoing personalit­y, big laughter and smile and his love for the Lord and family. John was a giant of a man with a gentle soul. When you asked him how he was doing? He would always say,” Terrible,“which meant he was great. He was a loving, husband, dad and papa and friend to all that knew him.

There is no memorial scheduled at this time.
