A Jan. 16 Journal article incorrectly summarized a state bill regarding water use in the oil and gas industry. A Senate bill pre-filed by Sen. Antoinette Sedillo Lopez, D-Albuquerque, would amend the Oil and Gas Act to require operators to use produced water, recycled water or treated water in lieu of fresh water for “oil and gas well drilling and development at depths lower than protected fresh water resource zones.”
