N.M. Gould’s turkey permit is up for raffle

Winner also gets two spring permits for Merriam’s, Rio Grande turkey season

Let’s talk turkey. The New Mexico Department of Game & Fish and the New Mexico chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation are raffling a permit to hunt a Gould’s turkey.

The winner will receive a permit to hunt one Gould’s gobbler and, as a bonus, receive two additional spring permits for Merriam’s or Rio Grande gobblers in New Mexico.

Hunting the Gould’s turkey will take place on public land in southweste­rn New Mexico.

The season dates are April 15 to May 10. Transporta­tion and accommodat­ions are not provided.

Tickets are $20 per entry and must be purchased on or before March 13. The winner will be drawn on March 15. The permit may be used by the winner, or is transferab­le and can be donated, gifted, sold or bartered.

Proceeds from the enhancemen­t hunt will be used for the Gould’s turkey management program in New Mexico.
