■ Joe Biden’s inaugural shows the precarious nature of today’s American republic. We’ve gone nuts. I don’t want to say Americans are fickle, but what does it say when a guy who attracted more voters than anyone else in history two months ago, has to draft 30,000 troops to protect him from them?
■ Hollywood tried to jerk Trump’s AFTRA and SAG union cards to prevent him from going on TV shows. It’s a brave new world. If you like my jokes and the government shuts down my newspaper and social media access like it has the Comedy Store, my CB handle is Old Dreamboat.
■ The Weather Channel reported that a freak weather condition in Southern California resulted in several tornadoes threatening the north San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles Tuesday night. It wasn’t the only place the climate was all weird. On Inauguration Day in Washington, it was minus-45.
