State can expect low temps, wind and snow
Expect some unsettled weather, including snow, winds and lower temperatures, over parts of New Mexico through Tuesday, the National Weather Service says.
First, snow is expected to develop over the far northern and western high terrain into Saturday night, then become more widespread Sunday, the Albuquerque office of the Weather Service said in a Friday afternoon advisory.
Then, a second, colder system is expected to move in Monday night through Tuesday night, bringing more widespread snow in the northern and western part of the state.
“Periods of moderate to locally heavy snowfall, blowing snow, freezing fog, reduced visibility, stronger winds, and (lower) temperatures are expected for several days,” the advisory reads. “The most significant impacts are expected to stretch along the Continental Divide, especially within Rio Arriba County, where in excess of 18 inches of snow is possible over several days.”
