Alvira (Petie) Fink

Alvira, better known as Petie to family and friends, passed away on December 28th at the age of 99 years young. During WWII she worked at Taylor Instrument Company located in Rochester, NY. Petie assembled and calibrated instrument­s for the aircraft there. Petie met her husband, Armand while working at the Instrument Company. Armand and Petie moved from Rochester NY to Albuquerqu­e in 1948. They had a wonderful 61 years of marriage until Armand passed away ion 2003. Petie was a member of the New Mexico Extension Club as well as the African Violet Club. Along with being an avid bowler, her happiest times were fishing with Armand and their two sons. She also loved being in the outdoors. Her other hobbies were cooking, collecting recipes and gardening. Petie was a loving, caring, fun and creative wife, mom, grandma and friend. She was a devout Catholic, loved God, family, Country and friends. Petie is survived by her sons, James and his wife Irene, and Thomas and his wife Kathleen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Armand. Per family wishes a memorial will be held at a later date.
