SF ANIMAL SHELTER & HUMANE SOCIETY

Are you ready to fall in love?

Roofus is a handsome 3-year-old mixed-breed fellow who currently weighs about 63 pounds. He came to the shelter when his previous guardian could no longer care for him and he is now ready for another loving family. Here at the shelter, Roofus has been excited to meet new people, has some of the best zoomies around and is always ready to play. He is very outgoing and full of energy. If you have another dog at home feel free to bring them for a meet and greet during your appointment.

Babyboy is a spicy, 11-pound, 9-yearold domestic medium-haired male kitty who came to SFAS when his guardian could no longer care for him. He gets pretty excited for pets and likes to get on your lap. He is affectionate and enjoys being brushed. He is missing his tail, but we think he was born that way. Come meet Babyboy, the purrrfect companion for you.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours during the pandemic are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and are by appointment only. If you would like to meet Roofus or Babyboy, or any of the other animals at the shelter, please call adoptions at 983-4309 ext. 1610 or email staff at Adoption@SFHumaneSociety.org to schedule an appointment.

View updated COVID-19 shelter policies at SFHumaneSociety.org. You can also follow the shelter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The Santa Fe Animal Shelter will offer free courses on dog training and guidance as part of the National Train Your Dog Month. The free classes are part of the Community Connection. If you are interested, you must register before the start date; all classes are online. The next class offered, “Help With Jumpy & Mouthy Dogs,” will be Jan. 30 at 2:30 p.m. This class will focus on helping prevent jumping and mouthing tendencies in your dog, and how to teach your dog what to do instead.

The shelter will also produce free training tips on its Facebook page each Tuesday, appropriately named Training Tip Tuesday.

Registration for all classes is required. For information, view the classes or, to sign up, visit SFHumaneSociety.org/ training.

ESPAÑOLA HUMANE

You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need — like Jagger. He needed shelter and now we would like to give him what he wants: a forever family. This Rolling Stone is ready to settle into furever and ever, and never look back! Jagger is handsome as a rock star and, for just a $20 adoption fee, you can take this yearold, 55-pound Rottweiler home. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and goes home with six months of heartworm prevention.

Look at the chipmunk cheeks on this kitty! Alan is a year-old furry feline. He weighs a purrfect 7½ pounds and has the most lovable set of squishalicious sweet-cheeks this side of the Mississippi. His adoption fee is waived, and he goes home neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. He has also been dewormed and microchipped!

Make an appointment to meet Alan, Jagger or any of the shelter’s available pets today. Española Humane is located at 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. Because of COVID-19, it is currently closed to the public and is offering adoptions by appointment only. Submit an application for either of these pets or see more adoptable pets on the shelter’s website at www.espanolahumane.org or www.petango.com/espanola. For more information, call 505-753-8662.
