Governor to deliver State of State speech
SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is scheduled to deliver the annual State of the State address Tuesday — a week later than usual.
She will make the speech remotely, and it will be streamed online, starting at 12:30 p.m., on her Facebook page and the Legislature’s website. It will also air on the state’s three PBS stations at 2 p.m.
New Mexico usually opens its legislative session with a speech from the governor, but the tradition was postponed this year because of changes triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic and security threats.
The Capitol building is closed to the public, and lawmakers are doing much of their work online.
