Ads in search for new APS boss cost $3,545
Advertising for the reopened Albuquerque Public Schools superintendent search will cost $3,545, according to district documents.
That’s on top of an additional $4,000 for reviewing and vetting the latest applicants, which was already communicated by the Board of Education.
The board voted 6-1 on Monday to amend the contract with search firm Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates, extending the term from Dec. 20, 2020, to Dec. 19, 2021.
Operational funds will be used to cover the expenses.
Board member Peggy MullerAragón, who voted against the changes, noted the advertising price tag nearly doubles the expected costs and said it would have been beneficial to know previously. Board President David Peercy said advertising fees were anticipated, but the exact amount hadn’t been nailed down.
