NM pandemic relief legislation

A new package of pandemic aid bills has been filed at the Roundhouse with the goal of moving the bills quickly. Other bills could also end up being part of the package, but these are the primary measures under consideration:

SENATE BILL 1: Would provide $600 tax rebates for low-wage workers; gives restaurants and breweries a four-month tax break.

SENATE BILL 2: Would waive fees for all liquor licenses for 2021.

SENATE BILL 3: Would change the criteria for a small business loan program enacted last year.

HOUSE BILL 8: Would authorize alcohol home delivery with food purchases, create new type of restaurant liquor license.

HOUSE BILL 11: Would expand the allowable uses for a state economic development “closing fund.”
