Brazilian steakhouse coming to ABQ

-

International Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão announced it will be opening its first location in Albuquerque this year.

The restaurant specializes in cooking hand-cut meat over open flames and then carving the cooked meat tableside.

In addition to meats, Fogo de Chão offers salads, seafood, desserts, cocktails and other options.

According to a news release, the Albuquerque location will feature “experiential elements tested in Fogo’s Brazilian locations to the U.S. for the first time” and a standalone butcher shop.

In early 2020, the restaurant filed a building permit with the City of Albuquerque’s Planning Department for a 9,654-square-foot space at the Coronado Center at 6600 Menaul NE, but it is not clear if the restaurant is still looking to open at that location.

Fogo de Chão operates 55 locations across the world.
