Competitive fitness broadens horizon for Albuquerque newcomer

Taking one look at Kolohe Primeau, one could see the Albuquerque resident enjoys fitness. In talking to him, one would realize that he works diligently to help others reach their goals.

Besides, fitness saved his life.

In 2013, Primeau found his way into the fitness competition world.

“I was depressed and partying a lot,” he says. “Then I found fitness and I started to enjoy the art of competition.”

This new world changed the trajectory of his life.

“I didn’t think anything of it,” he says of being a competitor. “It has impacted me with how I handle stress and given me a positive outlook on life. I feel a lot more ambitious and find myself eating healthier.”

Primeau moved to Albuquerque in 2016 and quickly put himself to work in various projects.

He now trains others and help them sculpt a new body.

He also does his own marketing, which has helped him find a devoted following on YouTube.

During his downtime, Primeau is working on an ebook as well as getting into the modeling world.

“It’s pretty cool stuff, and I’m always up for a challenge,” he says. “I do all of this because it makes me happy and I feel like it’s my purpose.”

Primeau has chosen Albuquerque as his home, which he’s excited about.

“I like Albuquerque because I feel like there’s opportunity and a lot of room for growth in all aspects of

my life,” he says. “There are a ton of talented people here who need a little push or guidance in life. I like that. The fitness industry continues to grow here, and I’m here for the long haul.”

Primeau has also taken notice of the New Mexico film industry and jumped into that area as well.

“I did some background work, and that got me started,” he says. “I was on ‘Deputy’ as an undercover sheriff. It’s something I would love to go into and enjoy doing. Whenever I work again, it’s going to be something that I love and enjoy.”
