State stands by as people jump in line

-

I AM also livid and outraged at the miserable, incompetent “rollout” of the vital COVID-19 vaccine. I understand, from creditable sources, that people are cutting in line, that much younger, much healthier people are receiving the vaccine out of turn. That valid “appointment codes” have been shared with family and friends, and that people are resorting to other unethical, conniving means of getting the vaccine. Reportedly even doctor’s offices are “ordering” generous numbers of vaccines to inoculate their own staff and then magically, since additional doses are available, family members are getting the vaccine. All the while the “authorities” stand by and allow this outrage to continue.

We have frail, vulnerable seniors who continue to wait for a vaccine that may or may not arrive in time. Naturally the elitist, privileged wheels in Santa Fe have no doubt already made sure they have received at least their initial dose, so they are probably protected. Where is the teeth in ensuring people are being vaccinated in their appropriate turn? I did talk to some representative of the Governor’s Office and she essentially said well “we don’t want that to happen, that is contrary to the rules.” Big deal. The governor has appeared on local news saying “we can do better.” Brilliant, concise observation, but will anything change? Or is more of the same, who you know determines your access to the vaccine?
