SF ANIMAL SHELTER & HUMANE SOCIETY

Are you looking to add a companion animal to your family? Santa Fe’s no-kill shelter has many wonderful cats, dogs and other critters looking for a warm and loving forever home.

Meet Lady, she is a lovely 9-yearold mixed-breed girl who currently weighs about 58 pounds. Lady is so well-named! She is a delight to spend time with and is excellent on leash — which is one of the qualities of a fine lady. She will politely accept all the attention she can get. Let’s just say she would love to be the queen of the house. If you have another dog at home, we do ask you to please bring them in for a meet and greet during your appointment with Lady.

Of course, a cat might be missing from your life. If so, come meet Bob. He is a handsome, 9-pound, yearold domestic shorthaired kitty. He came to SFAS when his guardian could no longer care for him and is now ready for a new home. Bob loves to play and enjoys under-thechin scratches. He is friendly and loves to purrr.

If you are interested in meeting Bob or Lady, contact adoptions at 983-4309, ext. 1610.

In addition to these two, there are other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours during the pandemic are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and are by appointment only. To find out more, call adoptions at 983-4309 ext. 1610 or email staff at Adoption@SFHumaneSociety. org to schedule an appointment to find your perfect pet. You can view updated COVID-19 shelter policies at SFHumaneSociety.org, and also follow the shelter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The Santa Fe Animal Shelter, which saves thousands of animals every year, is ready to save the humans! The shelter will host an essential blood drive (for humans). All donors will receive a shelter gift

and a COVID-19 antibody test. This test determines if a donor has been previously infected with COVID-19. It is not a test to determine if a donor is currently infected.

Appointments are preferred and time slots are limited. Please adhere to strict distancing and disinfecting protocols; face coverings are required during the event. Blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and generally be in good health.

The event is Feb. 13, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter, 100 100 Caja del Rio Road. To reserve your spot, please register online at SFHumaneSociety.org.

ESPAÑOLA HUMANE

If you are still pretty much staying home and social distancing, how does bringing home a new companion animal from Española Humane sound?

Barron is a heckin’ good boi! This 4-month-old shepherd mix is available fresh from foster care, where he has been loved to the

moon and back again. He will go to his forever home neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and with 6 months of heartworm prevention for an adoption fee of $150.

If you’ve been hoping to find a feline friend, look no further than the heavens above. Milky Way is a whole galaxy of purring sweetness — they don’t get much cuter than this twinkling night-sky kitty! For an adoption fee of just $30, 3-monthold Milky Way goes home neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Make an appointment to meet Barron, Milky Way or any of the shelter’s available pets today.
