SPORTS SPEAK UP!

-

THROUGHOUT THIS topsy turvy season, I have been willing to give Paul Weir the benefit of the doubt. But in contrast, rather than tearing the team apart, it seems like the pandemic has brought the women’s team closer together. The comparison is a stark contrast.

GOD BLESS Coach Mike and the Lady Lobos! Not a quitter in the bunch. You make NM proud! Women didn’t quit, the Men did. Wow! Honks offer the same excuses: The Guv missed too many 3s. The Guv turned it over too much. This team was terrible from the very 1st tip. Good riddance!

IT’S TIME FOR an adult at UNM, either the President or the AD, to shut down the Lobo men’s basketball program. In actuality, the Governor did it months ago not allowing our teams to practice or play in the state. The will to play is no longer there and please stop pushing these young men to play; it’s an embarrassment. Accept the fact that this is a lost year for all of our youth whether in the classroom or a sports field.

THE SEASON has been frustrating for players, coaches and of course the fans. The Pandemic is not to take all the blame, it’s the coach, folks. … What happened to earning your pay?

I FEEL FOR THE Lobo men’s BB team — the players, coaches and staff. … Yes, the COVID pandemic has created a very challenging set of circumstances that have contributed to the unfortunate record to date. But the sad truth is that the coaches have assembled a team of players who simply cannot shoot. — DJ
