■ The former Washington Redskins hired two African Americans as team executives as well as a Black woman as assistant running backs coach. The NFL is now a league that looks like America. In President Biden’s honor, an elderly white man will be allowed to quarterback in the Super Bowl today.
■Major League Baseball announced that the 2021 season will start in the nation’s capital with the Washington Nationals home opener April 1. Opening Day is always a big day for traditional ceremonies. Before the game, the CEO of Twitter will be on hand to throw out the First Amendment.
■Homeland Security estimated that 13,000 Central Americans are making their way to the U.S. border together. Tracking them has been simplified by high-tech surveillance and cooperation with the Mexican government. And the fact that they’re all in one car certainly helps.
