Lobo men have no positive virus cases

-

Nobody on the New Mexico men’s basketball travel party that took a bus back from Fort Collins, Colo., on Wednesday tested positive Wednesday afternoon for COVID-19, the university confirmed Thursday.

The team’s two-game series this week with Colorado State was postponed by Larimer County, Colo., health officials as a precaution when it was learned UNM assistant coach Scott Padgett had come in contact last weekend with somebody who had tested positive. Neither he, nor anyone on UNM’s travel party, ever showed symptoms or had a positive test in testing Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

As a result, the program can proceed with practice. On Thursday it announced it will play its Feb. 17 and 19 series against Wyoming at the U.S. Air Force Academy outside of Colorado Springs. The team then stays there for the Feb. 22 and 24 series with the Falcons.
