NM Artisan Market reopens as Valentine’s, Mother’s Day near

The New Mexico Artisan Market has returned to the Sawmill Market just in time for some special holidays ahead.

Unique and one of the kind gifts for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day can be found at the Artisan Market. Guests can also spoil themselves with purchases from the Artisan Pop-Up Market, which is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays through June 27. The PopUp Market is next door to HAWT Pizza Co., across from Botanic Bar at the Sawmill Market, 1909 Bellamah NW.

A rotating selection of handcrafte­d goods will be showcased, including jewelry, fashion, ceramics, pottery, furniture, candles, metal, glassworks and more. Visitors can check Sawmill Market’s social media ahead of each weekend to see which vendors will be available, according to a Sawmill Market news release.

“Hosting the New Mexico Artisan Market at Sawmill Market was a natural fit, and we’re thankful for the support we’ve seen from the community this past fall,” says a news release from Belia Alvarez, corporate director of community relations at Heritage Hotels & Resorts and executive director of the New Mexico Multi-Cultural Foundation, which oversees the New Mexico Artisan Market. “We’re honored to continue this important tradition and look to this year with cautious optimism as we create more ways to connect guests with some of the state’s most talented artists as safely as possible.”

Featured artisans include Gary G. Designs, sterling silver jewelry (Albuquerqu­e); Mike Toya Art, artists, various mediums (Isleta), SunDancer Steel & Glass Co., stained glass and ornamental steel (Edgewood); Taos Bee Flower Company, skin care and bee products (Taos); Griffith Evans Jewelry, jewelry made from sustainabl­y harvested local orchard woods (Albuquerqu­e); Jack Boglioli Jewelry, bespoke jewelry made of woven metals and precious gems (Albuquerqu­e); R Montoya Jewelry, silver, gold, and intricate stone inlay jewelry (Santa Fe); Anik Jewel, gemstone jewelry (Albuquerqu­e); Enchanted Sugar, soy candles, wax melts, skincare (Albuquerqu­e); khmogen design, acrylic paintings on vintage, upcycled metal (Albuquerqu­e) and Desert Fig Designs, Sterling Silver jewelry (Santa Fe), according to the news release.

Some of Sawmill’s vendors are offering special Valentine’s Day packages and discounts.

Mercantile Cafe has a Tuscan-inspired threecours­e dinner that can be enjoyed on the patio or picked up curbside. The meal includes a shareable antipasto consisting of Tuscan salami, prosciutto, an eggplant and goat cheese roll, roasted bell pepper mini caprese skewers, and Tuscan bean spread crostini. The main course is a creamy Tuscan chicken breast with spinach and artichokes and lemon and rosemary roasted potatoes. The dessert is a chocolate and raspberry mousse. The meal for two is $79 and available Friday, Feb. 12 through Sunday, Feb. 14. It can be pre-ordered by calling 563-4473 or visiting sawmillmar­ket.com. Customers can also add a bottle of Crafted by Gruet Chardonnay or Seaglass Pinot Noir for $21, a single-stem rose from Estella Flowers for $12 or a small vase bouquet for $30, and a Zia pendant necklace from Spur Line Supply Co. for $30.

Blue Door Patisserie has The Lover’s Box or The Blackheart Box available for $75. Each box includes six fresh-baked shareable treats. The boxes can be ordered in person or by calling 900-7705 or via email at bluedoornm@gmail.com. The boxes can be picked up Friday, Feb. 12, through Sunday, Feb. 14. Eldora Chocolate has a special four-set of premium truffles including strawberry balsamic truffle, key lime truffle, raspberry caramel heart-shaped truffle, and a pomegranat­e rose trophy truffle. Each set is $18 and can be ordered in-person at the chocolatie­r. XO Waffle is offering a buy one waffle, get one half-off promotion on Sunday, Feb. 14, according to the news release.

Spur Line Supply Co. customers can treat themselves to 50% off full-price beauty products this entire month. Simply Olive Oil has a special deal on its chocolate-covered cherry dark balsamic vinegar and blood orange oil. Guests can buy two for $25. The bottles normally cost $30 each. Customers can also purchase a bread dipping kit to complete the experience for $20.

Sawmill Market is open for outdoor dining at a limited capacity. It also offers takeout and delivery, within a 10-mile radius, through its convenient “Taste of the Market” online ordering portal, which allows customers to order from several food and beverage vendors in one easy transactio­n, according to the news release.
