Saggio’s opens Coronado location

Longtime university-area Italian restaurant Saggio’s has made its way to Uptown with the opening of a second location at the Coronado Center.

The fast casual Italian restaurant took over the space previously occupied by Bonefish Grill on the east side of the mall next to Fuddruckers.

Like the original location, the Uptown location features a menu of pastas, salads, handmade pizzas, cannolis and more.

Founded in 1977, the original location of the restaurant on Cornell near Central features an eclectic interior design and still serves recipes created by its founders.

Saggio’s previously operated a small outlet location inside the University of New Mexico Student Union Building and also runs its sister chain of restaurants, Fastino’s. The Uptown location of Saggio’s is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
