Tipp and Elma Simpson
Tipp and Elma Simpson are celebrating their 51st wedding anniversary.
Tipp Simpson and the former Elma Bostick united in marriage Feb. 6, 1970, at the American Consulate in Tokyo, Japan.
Tipp was an officer in the U.S. Air Force.
Elma was a selfemployed artisan.
Tipp and Elma knew each other for a total of four months before their wedding. The Air Force sent them all over the world for 26 years; they saw Asia, Europe and Alaska.
They retired in Anchorage, Alaska, where they resided for 12 years, and came to Albuquerque in 2006 to be closer to their daughter and widowed mothers.
They are the parents of Michael and his wife, Marion, of Anchorage; Dana and her husband, Charles, of Albuquerque; and Matthew and his wife, Tina, of Elko, Nevada. Tipp and Elma have five grandchildren, Miranda, Nova, Mila, Nicolas and Gabriel.
