State reports 285 COVID cases, 13 deaths

Number of new infections in New Mexico is the lowest in a day since October

The New Mexico Department of Health on Sunday announced 285 new COVID-19 cases and 13 more deaths.

The new case count is the lowest the state has reported in a day since reporting 269 on Oct. 11.

Bernalillo County had 64 cases, Doña Ana County had 63, and both McKinley and San Juan counties had 22. A state inmate at the Northwest New Mexico Correctional Facility in Cibola County also tested positive, according to the Department of Health.

The total number of deaths in the state is now 3,529. Those whose deaths were reported Sunday were:

Three women, ranging from their 60s to their 70s, from Bernalillo County. Two of them were hospitalized and had underlying health conditions.

A woman in her 90s from Catron County who was hospitalized.

A man in his 60s from Chaves County who was hospitalized.

A woman in her 80s from Cibola County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions.

Two people, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 80s, from Luna County. Both were hospitalized.

Two people, a man and a woman in their 80s, from McKinley County. Both had underlying conditions.

A woman in her 70s from Sandoval County who had underlying conditions.

A woman in her 90s from San Miguel County.

A man in his 80s from Santa Fe County.

As of Sunday, 292 people were hospitalized statewide with the disease, according to the Department of Health.

The state has had a total of 180,571 cases, with 120,051 recoveries.
